Mere logical fallacies are no longer sufficient to capture the full scope of the collective derangement that pours unchecked out of freefromthoughtblogs, Skepchick and now it’s brain-damaged crack-baby Atheism+. Their cocktail of rabid witch-hunting, indoctrinational disinformation and the nouveau theology of Oppression is birthing its whole own schema of perfidious gobbledygook that defies classification as simply fallacy and deserves its own sub-section in the Skeptics Dictionary – that of logical incoherencies.
A couple, such as ad himinem and reductio ad Watsonum, have been mentioned previously. A broader principle, that of Myers’ law – that what you say to any denizen of their sheltered workshops never has any realistic relation to what they actually hear – has also been postulated and covers the origin of much of the baboons’ general incoherence. Myers’ law is easy enough for anyone to verify by simply attempting to initiate a discussion in any of their forums (degree of difficulty: like falling off a toilet drunk).
The undisputed queen of logical incoherencies has to be Ophelia Benson. This is the FfTB celebrity that brought you parallel logic – and as best as anyone can work out, an example of this is the obvious relationship between the folks that organise JREF’s Amazing Meetings and concentration camp gas chamber operators.
But even queen’s get toppled. Hotly yapping at her heels are many others, most notably Stefanny Zwan (my apologies, but spelling her name correctly is no longer an option). Zwan has been fooling us all along… Whilst successfully deceiving us with her charade that she is on a jihad against misogynists, MRAs, PUAs, chill girls etc. and their various collaborators, her real mission in life is now becoming readily apparent – The War on the English Dictionary. Zwan is on a crusade to rescue is from our own language while rewriting it. This is just a small sample of her more recent creative, yet truthful, revisionism –
- Harassment – reading her blog and disagreeing with it
- Stalking – reading her blog, disagreeing and then blogging about it
- Misogyny – making any kind of action other than nodding furiously in agreement when she addresses you
I just wish Zwan would start formalising her new, improved language for us, instead of just continuously implying it. Awfully confusing for those unfamiliar with FfTB – they might think it’s like the outside world. And that always ends in tears…
But I digress, as per usual. Two thoroughly wonderful logical incoherencies got spurted out of the gates of rape loving hell almost simultaneously this week, one from AnimalAndy, the other from the omni-talented Mykeru (who’s Youtube vivisections of the baboons cannot be recommended enough). I present them below, respectively –
Zvan’s Law:
“The chance of being called a privilege-blind misogynist has a direct correlation with the number of factual arguments you make.”
Mykeru’s Law:
“As any progressive movement grows and achieves success, the probability of it being co-opted by women who want to make it all about their vagina approaches 1”
Both are so beautiful, I just can’t pick a favourite.

Mykeru’s Law seems to be a contender to equal Godwin’s.

So have you seen Watson’s Slate article she put up yesterday?

Oh yes. The portable drama. Summarised excellently here –

It is interesting charting this disinformation campaign as it moves around looking for schmucks that have disregard for editorial standards. Kimberley Winston, the prayer quilter, has been used in this manner to inject the propaganda into both USAToday and Washington Post. Must get around to collating these efforts – Watson’s “creative advertising” diploma is paying off with this guerrilla bullshit.

I love Mykera’s videos! Since he has an American accent, I know you and he are 2 different people.
Do you know about thecriticalg YouTube channel? The dramatic reading of Schroedinger’s rapist is a must see. He reads well-written blog posts as well, according to viewer requests. So far, he’s read 2 or 3 from Greylining and even recommended the website for more great articles from Franc Hoggle.
So, Franc, your writing is something the internet wants more of! I know you probably have a real life. But please! Do it for the baby otters. You like baby otters don’t you? 😉

Mykeru is another disgruntled AtheistNexus refugee I think. He does wonderful stuff. CriticalG is great too – he requested permission and I said go to town son, my stuff is your stuff. He has. Makes me proud seeing the end result.

+1 on all of that.
Grey Lining is fucking class.

I spelled Mykeru wrong.
Can anyone explain his avatar to me? It’s a longhorn cattle skull on a human body dressed in a black long coat suit with his hands behind his back. Then a sword flashes behind the creature’s back. Since I just found out what Nyan Cat is, I am wondering if this is a meme or something.
If not, can we make it into a meme? I don’t want to be DMCA’d though. That cartoon beast does find serenity through viciousness after all.

Dunno, it’s a neat graphic. Why don’t you ask him yourself? There’s an extended interview with Mykeru on ReapSowRadio out today –

question: what did rkw say when a rowdy gang of five sweaty and not slightly inebriated and scantily clad male erotic dancers crowded into the elevator with her at four o’clock in the morning?
answer: “guys, go ahead and do that”
she did.

I think it’s very nice of Vacula to admit that their entire agenda is a silencing tactic. Of course, we all already knew that all along. -PZ in the comments

I am a gay man who was informed recently (by the president of the Humanists of Florida no less) that I am an MRA because I voted down a Rebecca Watson video on You Tube after which I was blocked from further commenting.

Fixed your vid – they embed provide the link is on a line by itself.
Otherwise, welcome to the new McCarthyism. This is precisely what the baboons are like – throw a handful of dung and then block you. That’s why they like mediums like Youtube and Twitter and their own sheltered workshops where they can have absolute content control. And that’s why you so rarely see them in mediums where they don’t. They are an unpleasant combination of intellectual vacuity, moral bankruptcy, deceit and cowardice – which makes them thoroughly incapable of defending their derangements in any arena where the rules are fair and the deck isn’t stacked. Pathetic creatures you could almost feel sorry for, until you remember their disgusting gang attacks against dissenting individuals in the community.
Just a tip: if you are going to attempt to engage these morons, have a look at the survival guide first –

Mykeru’s Law is spot on. I keep seeing it in many places.
From a comment elsewhere on Mainstream Misandry
I was listening to Saturday’s coast-to-coast and a woman came on to tell us all that patriarchy is the reason why everything’s wrong in the world. And that men being in charge is why there’s rape and torture and men have made a huge mess of it all. She ended by saying that the old goddess religions were peaceful because ‘women are communal.’
It should be noted that neither the guest nor the host disagreed with her assessment and the host gave a ‘you go grrl’ nod of agreement. Both were male.
For many years I was deeply involved with the Wiccan community, and was constantly faced with this particular notion over and over again. It has become so pervasive in the Pagan religious community that it is entirely invisible, and insidious. If you accept the notion that many of the world’s ills are due to “An imbalance favouring masculine spiritual energies” and that “the world is naturally re-balancing itself by giving voice and power to Feminine Energies,” any pain you feel as a Man is accepted as a natural and inevitable part of a natural cycle.
This idea wasn’t part of the religion I’d joined and been initiated into, but it became all-pervasive in it over the course of a couple of decades. Paganism stopped being about the acceptance of the inner and primal, and started to be about “Goddess spirituality.” This idea has rendered the whole pagan community unrecognizable from what it was in the 80s, in terms of practice, attitude, beliefs, and makeup.
By the time we got to the end of the 90s, books on “Wicca for Men” or “Paganism for Men” were entirely built around the notion that Men in our current age had a duty to serve the women around them, and really were about the best way to position yourself as a servant of The Goddess and her priestesses, while building contempt for Men who were still “holding back the change to a new era.”
My direct experience was usually one of exclusion. I wasn’t welcome in most covens and circles in my area because I was a man – or I was only welcome if I remained outside the ritual circle, or in a specifically subservient role, like guard of the ritual space entrance, in it.
Ultimately, I had to withdraw from Paganism for a long time, because it had become so unwelcoming, and so un-empathetic to the male participants.

I haven’t been involved with Wiccans since the ’80s and they were extremely gynocentric then. Your telling me it’s gotten worse does not surprise me a bit. I always found them awful – worse than the bulk of mainstream xtianity as far as dogma and prejudices go. Love this insult they used to hurl at the unwanted – “you once born”.
What struck me most then was the selfishness of the mindset. “It’s all about me”. They are responsible for much of the “personal growth” industry. “I have to do this for me” and “I need this to grow spiritually” as excuses for them fucking you around or abdicating from social responsibilities. Awful, awful people. That it’s devolved further into gender feminist nuttery is natural I guess – because that is one of the most selfish ideologies there is.

[…] Every day, the skeptic drama train started by the “Elevatorgate” incident rumbles on. We continue to see skepticism, a very positive movement that champions critical thinking, evidence-based decisions and rationalism being hijacked by the forces of gender feminism and “social justice warriors” with victim complexes. It has sadly fallen foul of Mykeru’s law: […]
