Westernised professional wailing (唱板板, or “singing the banban”1) as a career and lifestyle choice is one of the most challenging, yet least known, branches of the classical performing arts. It is a complex, multidisciplinary form of expression that distills the finer subtleties from Munchausen Syndrome and certain aspects of HPD into its own unique brand psychodramatic theatre. Notable laureates of this school have been Glenn Beck, Anita Bryant, Joseph McCarthy, Jenny McCarthy (no relation), Catharine MacKinnon and Fred Phelps – those that have taken the mundane, the nonsensical and the nonexistant and, through applied hyperbole, hysteria and robotic repetition of fear-mongering and artificial “us and them” division, have escalated non-problems to the status of cancers that threaten to undermine society itself, thus ensnaring and captivating an audience of the feeble and the powerless that are incapable of articulating their bottled up angst unassisted. As with all styles of thespian expression, language is the primary tool and here the language of demonisation and persecution is the key to establishing a stage presence and an unforgettable persona in the eyes of the target audience. Yet this language is too seldom analysed, let alone quantified. This paper attempts to enumerate the frequency with which the language of demonisation and persecution occurs in one particular contemporary ideological ghetto – that of the collective that has formed around freefromthoughtblogs, Skepchick and it’s mutant offspring Atheism+.

The Atheism+ shills are still bombarding the web on any white space that’s available and still conning gullible web-zines and newspapers for free advertorials on the new, improved brand of snake oil. Building a bogus presence that is somehow representative of the greater community out of snappy soundbites and flatulent wind.
Whilst the chumps at these journals may fall for the hogwash by abdicating editorial responsibility, and the laziness of not creating genuine content instead of relying on cheap filler, the unfortunate and very visible reality is that the greater community is now far more capable of spotting cheap confidence tricksters and is refusing to buy into it at all. And the really grim reminders of reality are found in the oddest of places, such as UrbanDictionary…
On September 3rd, someone posted an entry, rather accurate if snide, of Atheism+. It took the subnormals at Atheism+ over a month to notice and react in the all to familiar manner –

Funny how appropriate images tend to find you
Another day, another new low from freefromthoughtblogs. It’s become a race to the bottom to see who can be the viler piece of shit. Sulky Amy (who kicks ass on a daily basis) made a superhuman effort, firstly with her crocodile tears at this years TAM, followed by her spurious DMCA takedown party (copies of notices). But now, Stefanny Zwan is going for gold by launching a petition against a fellow community member, a person that actually does stuff other than whine and wallow in self pity1, Justin Vacula –
(On the off chance that change.org actually does take down petitions that serve no purpose other than to defame, a mirror of the petition can be seen here)
The immediate absurdity is, of course, how Zwan, or any baboon blogger (let alone any of the minions of subnormals that constitute their readership), could ever declare anyone as being “unfit for any leadership position” – a sentiment parroted ad nauseam in the comment section, as per patented FfTB synchronised individuality – the absurdity being the implication that one of their own could somehow be more “worthy”. Bloghog tries to be more incoherent than Ophelia Benson. Comes close.
As the old German proverb goes, blood is thicker than water. The cesspit of lies states “It generally means that the bonds of family and common ancestry are stronger than those bonds between unrelated people (such as friendship)”. But often it is also used as a lever to coerce obligation, “this phrase is usually used to remind family members that their allegiance should always remain with their family first, and outside acquaintances second”.
It’s all a rather convoluted way of describing what are base mammalian pack instincts. In humans, whatever way you look at it, the results are always skewed in the same way – the pack does not see flaws that are obvious to outsiders and, conversely, exaggerates trivial achievements to the level of heroism whilst others don’t seem to notice a thing. Case in point: Jen McCreight’s daddy thinks the world is being unfair and cruel to his precious princess that has, evidently, done so much for the rest of us and lets us know in word salad of appeal to pity and bare-knuckle machismo. Stripping away the last flimsy disguise of what a noxious abomination freefromthoughtblogs actually is. This is entirely the baby of PZ Myers – he’s whipped his baboons into a blood lust frenzy much like Manson did his “family” at Spahn Ranch. The Naked One will, of course, deny any culpability, perched atop his empire’s throne. In pure legalese technical terms, his denials of this fact would probably hold ground – this is a master deceiver who’s every utterance is a lie, a smear or a manipulation after all. He lives and breathes falsehood – it is his business model. But this is only the latest personal attack he has incited from his subnormal FfTB horde – and it won’t be the last. Each time you think they’ve scraped the bottom of the barrel, they punch it out and lurch to some new excess. Sooner or later, someone will get hurt. And when that happens, Myers will be held accountable.
I am ashamed to be an atheist.

Yes, I called new, new atheism, but it was well over a year ago. At my best estimate, I was sounding the warning bells as far back as 20081. It was only here, over the last year, that I have started pushing the point that the rabble that now hogs the public spaces of the godless have little, if nothing, in common with the in-your-face, out-of-the-closet new atheism pioneered by what has come to be known as the Four Horsemen – Dawkins, Dennet, Harris and the late, dearly missed Hitchens. This is disheartening. It appears that RationalWiki has been overrun by baboons. Or at the very least, is performing nothing near due diligence in its editing oversight.
By now, most people should be aware of Thunderf00t’s brief, but spectacular, tenure at the Fox News of the godless world, freefromthoughtblogs, the embers of which are still flaring and showing little sign of subsiding.
I don’t won’t to go into the history or the rights and wrongs of that conflagration1. Suffice it to say it was a joy to watch, and one of several key recent episodes that are precipitating the baboon eschaton and nudging them towards the abyss they so richly deserve.
What I do want to look at is an item that popped up in one of my RSS feeds pointing to a biographical article on Thunderf00t at RationalWiki – (more…)
